Hamptons Weekend House

A four-bedroom house on a parklike two and a quarter acres has a new pool, meandering perennial gardens and the privacy to enjoy both. In 1965 this architect-designed home was built for use as a summer cottage. A hallway skylight. The glass sides of the foyer allow views of the pool and waterfall behind the house. At the back of the house are a large, heated Gunite pool, covered for the winter, and a bluestone terrace.

MAP OF NYC

Put a large murial or image of Manhattan on a wall. Have pins and cool postits to pin names of bars, cafes, barber etc on the map. Then when ever anyone visits they can visually see "My NYC" and even if they don't know NYC they will have a list of places to visit. Great conversation starter. Everyone can pin their favourte place and sign it. Antique map of Paris was blown up and then cut into four pieces and framed. And in 30 (!) pieces here. Buy old antique maps on EBAY!

Buenos Aries

Jennifer Webster, an American film producer, and Zsolt Juhasz Buday, a Hungarian architect and set designer, bought an 8,000-square-foot, Beaux-Arts home in Buenos Aires for $300,000.

In the entry hall, the wrought-iron banisters, the ornate moldings and the parquetry were all restored. The chairs and ottoman were bought at a flea market and reupholstered in fabric from De Levie.

They bought the marble-top table in the kitchen for about $800 at a local store. The vintage chairs, which Ms. Webster reupholstered, were purchased at the Mercado Dorrego flea market.

The 540-square-foot kitchen has a central island with an old lapacho wood counter made by Los Diaz de Mario.

The living room is furnished with a sofa custom-made by Los Diaz de Mario and a loveseat bought at a flea market for about $600 and reupholstered in burlap.

A painting by the artist Fernando Goin rests on the headboard in the master bedroom. The lamps are from Milagros Deco, a local store
